Irya's Playground on worl tour!
The band´s collaboration with Cirkus Cirkör has become an international success! Irya’s Playground, began yet another extensive world tour with Cirkus Cirkör starting in Tampere Finland on August 7 2009. The performance called "Inside Out" has been a sold out success!

Irya's Playground is the live band in the performance of Inside Out. They have used a large portion of the music from the debut album "Irya's Playground" in the show and are one of the key ingredients to why the show has recieved such rave reviews. The album reached a Top 5 position on the Swedish album charts! Reviews have been unanimously overwhelming and the debut has reached wide spread recognition in native Sweden.

A run of 58 shows will be performed this autumn in a total of eight cities, including Moscow, London and New York and will continue to tour throughout all of  2010. Not only will Irya's Playground perform with Inside Out, but in most cities on the tour you can see Irya's Playground play additional shows where they will headline at clubs in conjunction with the Cirkus Cirkör performance. Jag är helt hänförd. Det här var nog det mest fantastiska jag någonsin har sett, och dessa människors förmåga att använda sig av sina graciösa kroppar i samband med en otroligt bra musik framförd live av Iryas Playground gav mig en sån härlig "feel-good-känsla".
Om jag kunde ge föreställningen Inside Out mer än en femma skulle den få det. Man fick sig en tankeställare om livet, och hur skört allt kan vara, och hur fantastiskt allt kan vara samtidigt.

I was overjoyed to hear the new album. I'm glad for a number of reasons. Firstly Irya is a wonderfully talented, gorgeous young lady with a beautiful voice. Secondly and most importantly she has the most rare of gifts. She can sing songs that are romantic without making them sounds cheesy or girly.
Her album really is her Playground. It's like steeping into her world for an hour. There's songs about travelling, love, dreams aspirations, heartbreak, fantasies, folk and city life.

One of my favourites has to be 'Room 54'. It's a real indie song that has lot's and lot's of crossover potential. This girl is a star in the making. I'm sure it won't belong before she really breaks through.

Totalt sett är Inside Out ett mäktigt allkonstverk där många olika konstformer används och fogas samman till en helhet. Här finns nycirkusens egna uttryck med akrobatik på påle, stolakrobatik och luftakrobatik men här finns också dans, videokonst, teater och inte minst musik. Bandet Irya's Playgrounds specialskrivna musik är vacker, smärtsam och perfekt i fas med föreställningens alla nummer. Att dessutom trummisen tar aktiv del i jonglerandet imponerar.

Här blir scenografin till häftiga konstverk. Tyginstallationer av hjärtats och hjärnas inre blir till lekplatser för artisterna och i bakgrunden visas samtidigt verkliga filmer från kroppens inre. Mäktigt.
Mäktigt är också det renskalade trapetsnumret där Carolina och Ivana i en trapets som gungar högt upp under cirkustältets tak bjuder på en fantastisk uppvisning i styrka och skönhet i perfekt samklang med Irya Gmeyners sång. www.skanskadagbladet.se

Irya´s Playgrounds repertoar spriker mellom alt fra popballader til deilig New wave. De åpner starkt med de første låtene. Best er de når de bråker som mest, og en utrolig tight trommis leker seg sammen med basisten. Synther sammen med et progressivt gitarkomp gjør at bandet tidvis toucher bort I electro-sjangeren. Irya Gmeyner er en uslepen diamant, som hittil har vaert forbeholdt undergrunnen.

Irya Gmeyner är en musiker som haft många järn i elden men som hellre vill skriva texter och göra musik. I will finally release my new EP "The Basement Takes From Textilgatan 7" on my own label Byker Wall together with Universal Music.

"The Basement Takes From Textilgatan 7" is a pun between Bob Dylan's world and the basement in Stockholm where we actually recorded the songs.

Most of the songs are taken from the very first demo sessions. We kept everything that we thought had the right expression and feeling and then we played around with it and added sounds and whatever we thought was necessary.

The EP is mixed by Ebbot Lundberg (from The Soundtrack Of Our Lives). Other friends and great musicians that have been part of creating the songs is: Conny Nimmersjö & Jonas Jonasson (Bob Hund), Martin Hederos & Ebbot Lundberg (T.S.O.O.L), Stefan Axelsen & Anders Hernestam (Weeping Willows), Bebe Risenfors (Tom Waits/Elvis Costello), Svante Loden & Måns Mernsten (Damn!/Timbuktu), Erik Nilsson & Jon Bergström among others.

We're going to play at Inkonst in Malmö!

Berlin!
I just came back from Berlin where I've spent new years eve. Berlin is an incredible town, such a nice place to be in, it's definitely not my last visit.
I have a feeling that 2006 is going to be a great year!
